Season 66 is in the books, and I wanted to write down some thoughts while the wars are still fresh. You can find every war I recorded on the Season 66 page, but here are the higher-level takeaways.
What Went Well
We had a great run this season, going 11-1. While many of our early wars were really easy, they got trickier as the season went on.
Viv Vision (Rank 5), Patriot (Rank 4 A1), and Nico Minoru (Rank 4) were the all-stars of this season. Viv was an absolute powerhouse for a number of Hazard Shift fights, especially against Node 9 Sentinel. Patriot was excellent for Spider-Woman and High Evolutionary, being incredibly safe for both of those defenders on just about any node on the map. With Nico being whitelisted this season, she crushed a number of Cosmics including Serpent, Maestro, Deathless Thanos, and Imperiosa. I also had a number of great fights with Nico against Red Skull on Node 3.
What Didn't
We had some diversity issues this season due to members leaving, which led to losing one war mid-season. It was also my first season planning defense placements as an officer, and there is certainly some optimization that can be had in our battlegroup.
I had a handful of deaths this season. Most were stupid mistakes that lost the fight for me, but one was a result of my poor planning. I did not fully appreciate how threatening Void can be in a Hazard Shift fight where you are not immune to both debuffs and chose Lumatrix for the fight. It’s certainly a lesson learned to take into next season.
Going Into Season 67
My main goal for improving next season is to bolster our defense by taking another look at our rosters and getting a better combination of defenders on the map. Since the start of last season, I got my Kindred and High Evolutionary to Rank 4 A1, and I’m hoping to have both of them on the war map.
